Triacylglycerols (TGs) stored in lipid droplets (LDs) are hydrolyzed in a highly regulated
metabolic process called lipolysis to free fatty acids that serve as energy substrates for β-
oxidation, precursors for membrane lipids and signaling molecules. Comparative gene
